Each chair is individually made by Robin Clarke in his country workshop

Chair construction uses techniques that have proved strong and durable over the centuries

The chairs are made from ash, legally sourced from sustainable and, where ever possible local woods

The ash is worked green and dried thoroughly before assembly

The seats are made from a single piece of ash - deeply 'bottomed' for comfort

Bent parts are steamed and pulled around formers in the traditional manner

All turning is done by hand, the front legs incorporating the characteristic apple core shape of Robin Clarke

The chairs are silky smooth to the touch and finished with beeswax

They are superbly comfortable
